Or a V-2, or a V-7 or whatever. Don't throw out tired raw vegetables. Salvage all you can by juicing or blending them. If you don't want to drink (or eat) the result, use it for a soup base. Freeze it for another day if you like - just don't throw it out.

Such good ideas here! I do not own a blender, do you consider it a frugal purchase?
I think, of all the small appliances one could own, a blender will save the most money. You can make so many things with one that are very hard or impossible to make without.
Thank you for the info, perhaps you can do a special section on other blender uses for the frugal minded? That would be great!
Let me think about the best way to go about it - good idea!
Or just keep the vegetable peels and ends in a freezer bag until you're ready to make stock.
