Make Your Own "Corn Syrup"
If you want to make something but you're out of corn syrup, or if you're like me and want to avoid as many GMO corn products as possible, you can make a good substitute by adding a quarter cup of water to a cup of sugar. Mix it well and cook until it's syrupy when you put a drop into cold water. Don't overcook it because it will become like hard candy. Store and use just like corn syrup.

Free "wax paper"
Another one for plastic gallon milk or water jugs: Cut full sides from them and use the sides in place of wax paper when cooling candies or unbaked cookies, etc. They're flexible so you can pop things right off and washable for many, many uses. You may never buy wax paper again.

Marshmallows for hot chocolate
If you happen to wind up with hardened marshmallow peeps leftover from Easter, don't toss them. Save them for hot chocolate - they make a little different topping as to looks, but they taste the same and the heat and liquid softens them so they melt just like fresh marshmallows.
