Sour cream
If you need sour cream for a recipe, you can substitute cottage cheese, pureed, or mashed thoroughly. Plain yogurt will do the trick, too, but it may be thinner.

I use plain yogurt in place of sour cream always, so as not to make it "watery", just place it in a coffee filter and let the the liquid drain. Use as you would sour cream.

Oh, good idea. No coffee filters but I have a cloth that would work, thanks.
