Sunflower seeds to the rescue!

If you like to make pesto or dishes that call for pine nuts, try substituting much cheaper sunflower seeds for them. Sunflower seeds also work in many places where slivered almonds are used. Experiment!

  1. I put sunflower seeds in just about everything that calls for nuts. Well, expect for pecan pie. That needs the real thing. LOL

  2. Yes, it would be kind of hard to make a pecan pie out of sunflower seeds... have you tried a sunflower seed pie?? ;)
